_Sir Rupert Shuckburgh, 13th Baronet, died 24 January, 2012. He was 62. Rupert Charles Gerald Shuckburgh was born 12 Feb, 1949, and succeeded his father, Maj Sir Charles Shuckburgh, 12th Bart, in 1988. The English Baronetcy was awarded in 1660, by Charles II, to Sir Rupert's ancestor, a loyal supporter of King Charles I. The 13th Baronet was twice married, and is succeeded by the elder son from his first marriage, James Rupert Charles, born 4 January, 1978.

I haven't posted separately about this as I am not sure I have a correct identification but there is a birth registered Q2/2023 WEST NORTHANTS for Archibald James R SHUCKBURGH. He may be a son and heir apparent to the present 14th Baronet Sir James Rupert Charles Shuckburgh.  Having put m/m/n Nichols (and Nicholls) into GRO there is no match though.  Sir James's daughter Catherine Clare J b 2017 (in DPB online) also comes up without a m/m/n match  - her birth was regd NORTHANTS.  The Shuckburgh estate is close to the Northamptonshire border and the children could have been born at Northampton General Hospital which is probably the nearest maternity hospital.  Alternatively Archibald could be the son of the Baronet's yr brother Peter though his address at Companies House is in Hampshire

Colin - I had a look at this.

Clare J Nichols is shown on electoral roll records with James R C Shuckburgh at an NN11 address:
- as Clare J Nichols for 2016-2017
- as Clare J Shuckburgh for 2018-2025
This probably fits the 2016 marriage in Debrett's online as often the updating of a surname on the electoral roll waits for the annual return at each address.

I checked the Ancestry copy of these electoral rolls and it indicates her YoB is in the range 1978 to 1980.

I checked FreeBMD, there are NO Clare J NICHOLS (or NICHOLLS) born in those years.  I would surmise that her marriage to James Shuckburgh was not her first marriage, and her maiden name is something else.

If she were born Clare J SMITH, then married a Mr NICHOLS, divorced him and then married Sir James SHUCKBURGH, I think the GRO would record her maiden name on the birth indices for a child of her marriage to Sir James as SMITH rather than NICHOLS.  I hope that makes sense.

But no closer to working out what her true maiden name is to verify your find.

It would appear from 192.com that Clare J NICHOLS was on the electoral roll in Warwickshire for 2010-12 and 2013-15 living with a Mr Nichols, whom I have taken to be her first husband. It also seems that she was an osteopath in that area, as is Clare J SHUCKBURGH, and they would appear to be one and the same person.
