I take the new father to be Ed(ward) St Alban (b 1987) s of Rt Hon (George) Iain DUNCAN SMITH MP (b 1954) and Hon Elizabeth Wynne FREMANTLE (b 1959) d of 5th Baron COTTESLOE (1927-2018) and Elizabeth Ann [b 1930 reg Q4 Yorkshire] d of Lt-Col Henry Shelley BARKER (1899-1970) of Walcote House, Rugby, Warwickshire by his 1930 m (reg Q1 London) to Sheila Winifred BARNES (1903-99).

I seem to recall there being some indication that Iain Duncan Smith claimed descent from Admiral Duncan (Adam Duncan, 1st Viscount Duncan and father of the 1st Earl of Camperdown), having a portrait in his office or something of the sort, and that some research or other disproved any connection; does anyone have any information on this?
