He was son of Russian aristocratic emigres Leo ZINOVIEFF 1905-51 [He m 2nd 1947 as her 2nd h Lady Jean DOUGLAS-HAMILTON 1904-87 (having m 3rd Wing Cdr Vivian Norton Bell) d of 13th Duke of HAMILTON & (10th) BRANDON 1862-1940] and his 1st w (as her 1st h, her 2nd h being a scion of the SKIPWITH Bts) Princess Sophia DOLGOROUKY 1907-94 (a descendant of Catherine the Great's illegt. son Count Aleksey Grigorievich BOBRINSKY 1762-1813). He m 1st 1960 Victoria Gala d of Robert Vernon HEBER-PERCY 1911-87 (4xgt gs of 1st Earl of BEVERLEY 1749-1830 f of 5th Duke of NORTHUMBERLAND 1778-1867, etc) and Ann Jennifer Evelyn Elizabeth 1916-2003 d of Sir Geoffrey Storrs FRY 1st Bt 1888-1960 and Hon Alethea Margaret Gwendoline Valentine GARDNER (d of 1st & last Baron BURGHCLERE 1846-1921 and gd of 4th Earl of CARNARVON 1831-90, etc), and had two sons (Leo b 1963 and m to a scion of ECCLES viscounts and has issue & Kolinka b 1966 and has a son by Rosalynd WARD) and a dau Sofka Euridice b 1961 and has two daus by Vassilis PAPADIMITRIOU. He m 2nd 1978 Rose Lucinda b 1950 d of Sir John VERNEY 2nd Bt 1913-93 and Jeanie Lucinda MUSGRAVE 1916-2014, and had three daus (Olga (now known as Freya) b 1978 and has a son, Katia (Kitty) b 1981 and has a son and a dau by Jadelin Mabiala GANGBO & Eliena (Nena) b 1983). He m 3rd 1987 reg Q2 Cambs, Tanya J M RICHARDSON and had a son Kyril Leo 1988-2015. He m 4th 2005 reg Q3 Cambs, Jennifer (Jenny) R JARDINE (?nee NASHAAT).

...Sofka Zinovieff, the oldest of his seven children, recalled that as a child “There was always music playing, but it tended to be Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert.” Sofka survives him along with her siblings Leo, Kolinka, Freya, Kitty and Eliena. Another son, Kyril, died in 2015. He is also survived by Jenny Jardine, his fourth wife, with whom he lived in Cambridge. His first three marriages to Victoria (née Heber-Percy), Rose (née Verney) and Tanya (née Richardson) ended in divorce and were described by Zinovieff as “tumultuous”.
Peter Zinovieff was born in London in 1933, the son of Sofka (née Princess Sophia Dolgorouky) and Leo Zinovieff, Russian aristocrats whose families had escaped the Russian Revolution. His parents divorced when he was young and much of his childhood was spent living with grandparents in Guildford. ...

Peter Zinovieff, composer and synthesizer pioneer, was born on January 26, 1933. He died after a fall at his home on June 23, 2021, aged 88
