From the Telegraph of 23 Dec 2025: WEATHERBY Sir Johnny, died peacefully on Thursday 18th December 2025, aged 66. Much loved husband of Sophie and devoted father of Isabella, Jack, Max and Lara. A figure of immense stature within the sport of horse racing - he will be missed by so many. There will be a private family funeral with a celebration of Johnny's life next year.

He was s of Christopher Nicholas WEATHERBY 1920-2004 and Alison Beatrix 1928-2017 d of Maj Philip Ivan PEASE 1900-64 scion of that gentry family of Middleton Tyas and Doris Madeline 1904-93 d of Maj Hubert Francis CRICHTON 1874-ka1914 (gs of 3 Earl of ERNE 1802-85, gs of 3 Marquess of HEADFORT 1822-94 etc) and Esther Eliza c1878-1965 d of Llewellyn Traherne Bassett SANDERSON c1845-1913 and Lady Rachel Mary SCOTT 1846-1911 d of 3 Earl of CLONMELL 1817-66 and Hon Anne DE BURGH 1818-72 d of 2 & final Baron DOWNES 1788-1864 and Maria BAGENAL 1788-1842. He m 1993 Sophie F b 1964 reg Q3 Birmingham d of (David) Roger CLIFFE-JONES 1938-96 by his 26 Dec 1959 m reg Q4 Warks to Margaret N A b 1939 reg Q3 Herefs&Worcs d of Wilfred Joseph Sylvester FITZMAURICE 1907-85 by his 1937 m reg Q3 Birmingham to Beatrice Annie Ethel 1907-2011 d of Henry Samuel LATHAM 1901- and (Adelaide) Beatrice MERCHANT 1902-, and had two sons and two daus as above.
