From the Telegraph of 25 May 2024: FAWCUS Major General Graham Ben CB MA MInstRE died peacefully on 21st May 2024 aged 86. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Funeral at St Mary's Church, Flowton, IP8 4LG on 15th June 2024 at 2.30 p.m.

He was s of Col Geoffrey Arthur Ross FAWCUS 1908-72 (s of Lt-Gen Sir Harold Ben FAWCUS KCB CMG DSO 1876-1947) by his 15 June 1936 m (St Luke’s, Chelsea) to Helen Sybil Graham 1910-2000 d of Alexander STRONACH by his 1909 m ref 231/2/4 Peterculter West to Mary STEWART. He m 1966 Diana Valerie b 1944 d of Patrick John SPENCER-PHILLIPS 1919-95 scion of that gentry family f/o Riffhams and Valerie Antoinette b c1924 reg Q1 Sussex d of Brian Gaire BLUNT 1897-1980 of Ulting, Maldon, Essex by his 1920 m reg Q4 London to Dorothy MANN-OGDEN 1898-1981, and had issue:

; Hon. D.C.L. Durham 1932; D.P.H. Camb. 1905 ; ...Assist. Prof. , R.A. M. Coll. 1912- 14; Assist Director- Gen. Army Med. Services
1922; Director Gen. 1929, Hon. Physician to the King 1923-34 Director-General British Red Cross Society 1934... served in S. African 
War 1900-02 ( two medals with two clasps) in Great War 1914-19 (despatches six times, (Croix de Guerre, , brevet) and Afghan War
1919, received Silver Jubilee Medal 1935, and Coronation Medal 1937"
