He was s of John Gray Churchill SPENCER 1907-77 (4xgt gs of 4 Duke of MARLBOROUGH 1739-1817 through mother & 4xgt gs of 3 Duke of MARLBOROUGH 1706-58 through his father, etc etc) and Elsie Phyllis 1911-2001 d of Ferrand CORLEY of Madras, India. He m first 1975 (div 2003) Katherine Margaret 1946-2008 d of Lt-Col Claud Everard Walter MONTAGU DOUGLAS SCOTT 1915-94 (gs of 6 Duke of BUCCLEUCH 1831-1914 (who was gf Princess ALICE duchess of GLOUCESTER), as well gs of 7 Duke of RUTLAND 1818-1906, etc) and Margaret Frances 1917-2000 d of Brig-Gen Lewis Francis PHILIPS 1870-1935 and Margaret Aline MORETON MACDONALD c1882-1971 scion of the MAXWELL MACDONALD Scots gentry family of Largie (as well gt gd of 1 Earl of DUCIE 1776-1840, as well gt gd of 1 Earl of CARNARVON 1741-1811 by his w a dau of 2 Earl of EGREMONT 1710-63 etc etc). He m second 2003 as her 2 h Georgianna Sarah TOMKINS (prev Mrs Preston), and had a son.
