He was s of Sir Gilbert Samuel INGLEFIELD GBE TD 1909-91 scion of that gentry family and Laura Barbara Frances 1908-2004 d of Capt Gilbert THOMPSON 1877-ka1915 (gs of Sir Matthew William THOMPSON 1^st Bt 1820-91 and his w & 1^st cousin (both gc of Rev John THOMPSON 1740-92) Mary Ann THOMPSON 1815-1903) and Ethel Isabella d 1959 d of Marmaduke D’Arcy WYVILL 1849-1918 sometime head of that gentry family of Constable Burton (and gs of Sir Charles IBBETSON 4^th Bt 1779-1839, as well 8xgt gs of 5^th Baron INCHIQUIN 1594-1624, etc etc) and his 1^st w Isabella Jane Richards c1847-1895 d of John Banner PRICE of Canada. He m 1971 Susan Lilias d of Henry TURCAN of Lindores House, Fife, and had two sons and two daus:
