This is an interesting Spanish family that I came across who are not
only Spanish Princes (I had thought that all those titles had been
converted into dukedoms), but they are also princes of the Holy Roman
Empire. The reason why I post here is that I would like to know if the
family are still extant in the male line. The online Gotha list a
couple of males who married in the 50's but no info on issue. Can
anyone throw any info on this?

There are three families that fit your description. Which Principato
di Belmonte? Granito, Pignatelli or Monroy family?

It is the last family the Pignatelli, though in the link below it
doesn't mention them as being Princes of the Holy Roman Empire and I
think that the family in the male line may be on the verge of
extinction. Here is the link from the Gotha:

There are several lines of the Pignatellis.

Luciana Malgeri, the Italian socialite married Prince Don Nicolò Maria
Pignatelli Aragon Cortès, 17th Prince of Noia (born 22 May 1923), a
Gulf Oil executive. He is a Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, 19th Duke
of Terranova, 17th Prince of Castelvetrano, Prince of Maida, Prince of
Valle, Duke of Bellosguardo, Duke of Girifalco, Duke of Orta, 19th
Marquess of Cerchiara, 19th Marquess of Avola, Marquess of Favara,
Marquess of Caronia, Marquess of Borghetto, Count of Celano, Baron of
Casteltermini, Baron of Menfi, and Patrician of Naples. The marriage
was annulled in 1968. The couple had two children: Princess Donna
Fabrizia (born 30 January 1956, married Stephen Fiamma) and Prince Don
Diego (born 21 May 1958, married Cristina Prandoni Porta), who is a
managing director of Warburg Dillon Read in Italy.

Don Nicolo married 2nd Mary Susan Morton in 1969 who had two sons:
Ascanio (1970) and Adriano (1972).

Since he had 3 sons and a daughter I find it hard to believe that
there are no heirs, especially since there are other branches of the
family.

The title of Marques of Valle Oaxaca originated with the conquistador
Hernando Cortes.
