McAlpine - The engagement is announced between Stuart, eldest son of the late Mr Grant Springham and Mrs Anne Akers, of Ightham, Kent, and Olivia Alice, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Adrian McAlpine, of Hungerford, Berks.

Olivia Alice Gemma (b 1986) d of Adrian Neil Raeburn McALPINE (b 1944), scion of the Bts of that name, and Angela Mary (b 1951 reg Q1 Gloucestershire) d of Dr George Charles HICKIE (1917-85), scion of the Irish gentry family of that name, and Elizabeth F GRIST (b 1924 reg Q4 London).
