He was s of (Henry) Gerald AYLMER 1896-1978 (3xgt gs of 2 Baron AYLMER d 1754) and Nancy 1902-91 d of (Thomas) Drake HOLLICK 1862-1941 of Harlow, Essex by his c1898 m reg Q1 Kent to Alice WILLSON 1862-1942. He m 1 1959 (div 1970) Venetia Mary b 1935 d of Ian Thomson HENDERSON 1908-86 and Monica Wingfield 1908-62 d of Sir Edward Wingfield VERNER 5 Bt 1865-1936, and had two daus. He m 2 1971 as her 2 h Margaret Gillian b 1933 reg Q2 Cheshire (prev. Mrs Elliot) d of John Herbert MUSKER 1905-87 by his 23 Sep 1931 m (St Mary the Virgin, Lymm, Chester) to Margaret Anne (Rita) THOMSON 1906-2004.

This is completely accurate, but it makes him seem to be an obscure distant collateral. In fact he was first cousin of the 13th Lord Aylmer.

His paternal grandmother was sister of William Henry Grenfell, Lord Desborough.
