From the Times of 25 May 2022: EVANS-LOMBE Sir Edward, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully at home on 20th May 2022, aged 85. The funeral will take place at St Mary’s Church, Marlingford, on May 31st at 2.30pm. At his request, there will not be a memorial service.

He was s Vice-Adm Sir Edward Malcolm EVANS-LOMBE KCB 1901-74 whom he succ. as head of that gentry family of Marlingford and Diana Vivien Katharine 1905-87 d of Lt-Col William James MACKESON 1857-1925 by his 1897 m reg Q1 London to Bertha PATTINSON 1871-1963. He m 1964 Frances Marilyn d of Robert Ewen MACKENZIE of Minster Yard, Lincoln, and had three daus and a son who succeeds him as head of the family:

Sussex, Gabrielle Frances 1966-2018 d of Col (Robert) Anthony SPACKMAN b 1931 reg West Midlands of Watersfield, West Sussex, by his 1960 m reg Q1 Monmouth & Times 14 March to Caryl Frances b 1937 reg London d of Gerald RAWLINSON by his 1932 m reg Q2 London to Clarice Mary RUSSELL-CLARKE 1910-89, and had four sons ALEXANDER EDWARD b 1995 reg London; Arthur Thomas b 1997 reg London; Alfred John b 1998 reg London and Atticus b c2000.

The following extract is from Debrett's, ed 1957 Knightage section, pg 1199, related to Vice- Adm Sir Edward Malcom Evans- Lombe KCB:

" Lombe, Vice- Adm, Sir Edward Malcom  Evans- K.C.B. son of the late Major A. F. Evans- Lombe, of 40 Elm Park Gardens, S. W. 10;
b. 1901; is Vice- Adm.  sometime an A.D.C. to H. M. ; was personal assist. to Third Sea Lord of the Admiralty, and Controller 1939- 42,
Ch. of Staff, British Pacific Fleet 1944- 45, Flag Officer, Training Squadron 1949- 50, and a Lord Commr. of the Admiralty, Dep. Ch. of 
Naval Staff 1950- 52, and Com. Allied Naval Forces , N. Europe 1953- 5... cr C.B. (mil.) 1946, K.C..B. (Mil.) 1954. Marlingford Hall, Norwich..."
