The death, aged 56, of Mrs Anne Dougal HOW, née CALLANDER, was registered in 1985 in Dundee (ref 350/465). The marriage of her parents, Lawrence Dougal CALLANDER, MB (c.1887 - 18 XII 1968) and Elizabeth R ARMOUR (c.1885 - ?), was registered in 1917 in St Andrew (Edinburgh, ref 685/2 150). L Dougal Callander was a surgeon at the Royal Infirmary in Doncaster, who gave his name to the Callander tourniquet, which he developed in 1940. Presumably, his wife was the Councillor Elizabeth Dougal Callander who was Mayor of Doncaster in 1956.
