Philip Henry Townsend EYRES died on 6 December 2012. The birth of his wife, née Jennifer Joyce LLEWELLYN, was registered in Marylebone in Q1 1931, and their marriage was registered in Chelsea in Q1 1955.
Lt-Cmdr Llewellyn Somerset Edward LLEWELLYN RN (13 II 1900 - 14 I 1940) was married, firstly, in 1930, to Mrs Louise Joyce McKENNA, née PHILIPSON (30 X 1906 - 14 III 1931), and secondly, in 1936, to Violet Mary Margaret HIBBERT (20 VI 1907 -1986). He had one daughter, Virginia Mary LLEWELLYN (born 1937) from his second marriage.
Lt-Cmdr Llewellyn was the elder son of Captain Llewellyn Thomas Evan LLEWELLYN (1869 - 12 III 1935) and his wife (marriage registered Q1 1899 - Chelsea), Maud Violet SAUNDERSON (1871 - 1955), of that Irish landed gentry family, of Castle Saunderson, co Cavan (her paternal grandmother was the eldest daughter of the 6th Baron Farnham, and her maternal grandmother was the second daughter of the 1st Baron Congleton; her mother's stepbrother was the 3rd and last Marquess of Drogheda). Lt-Cmdr Llewellyn's sister, Rosemary Dawn LLEWELLYN (1904 - 16 XI 1973), was the first wife (married 8 XII 1926, divorced 1954) of James Grenville GOODENOUGH (19 IX 1900 - 8 XII 1961), a younger brother of Sir William Macnamara GOODENOUGH, 1st Bt (10 III 1899 - 23 V 1951).
Captain Llewellyn Thomas Evan LLEWELLYN was the eldest son of Colonel Evan Henry LLEWELLYN (25 II 1847 - 27 II 1914), MP (Conservative) for North Somerset from 1885 to 1892 and from 1895 to 1906, and his wife (married 29 X 1868), Mary Blanche SOMERS (1847 - 3 II 1906), of that landed gentry family, late of Mendip Lodge. His brother, Owen John LLEWELLYN (30 IX 1870 - 31 V 1943) was a great-grandfather of the Rt Hon David William Donald CAMERON (born 9 X 1966), Prime Minister, 2010-16.
Mrs Louise Joyce LLEWELLYN, formerly McKENNA, née PHILIPSON would appear, sadly, to have died at around the time that her only child, Jennifer Joyce LLEWELLYN, was born. Mrs Llewellyn was the sister of Hilton PHILIPSON (5 XI 1892 - 12 IV 1941), who was elected as MP (National Liberal) for Berwick-upon-Tweed in the 1922 General Election, but was unseated when his election was overturned on petition. In the resulting by-election, his wife was elected as MP in his stead, albeit under a different party label (Conservative), and she held the seat until 1929.
Mrs Louise Llewellyn had been married firstly, on 16 March 1926, to (as his first wife) Terence Morell MCKENNA (8 IV 1894 - 18 I 1948), a grandson of the famous doctor Sir Morell MacKENZIE (7 VII 1837 - 3 II 1892). Terence McKenna was married secondly, on 14 August 1930, to (as her first husband) Anne Maria DENNIS (11 XII 1907 - 6 III 1993; a jazz pianist, composer and cabaret performer under the stage name of Anne De Nys), by whom he was the father of the actress Virginia Anne McKENNA, OBE (born 7 VI 1931), who was married firstly, in 1954 (divorced 1957), to (as his first wife) the actor Denholm Mitchell ELLIOTT, CBE (31 V 1922 - 6 X 1992), and secondly, in 1957, to (as his second wife) the actor William Inglis Lindon ("Bill") TRAVERS, MBE (3 I 1922 - 29 III 1994).
