From the Times of 11 Nov 2021: MAXWELL STUART Michael died peacefully at home on 1st November 2021, aged 89. Loving father to Laura and Justin and grandfather to George. He will be sorely missed by his large family, many friends and his beloved dog Jack. He was a farmer his entire life and dedicated himself to nature, wildlife and the animals in his care. Funeral to be held at St Mary’s RC Church, Lanark, on Friday 12th November at 3pm. All welcome. No flowers please but rather donations direct to Compassion in World Farming.

He was s of Francis Joseph MAXWELL STUART 1886-1962 19th of Traquair (s of Hon Mary Anne CONSTABLE MAXWELL 1858-1941 d of 10th Lord HERRIES OF TERREGLES 1804-76) and Dorothy Mary d 1975 dau of J D'Arcy HARTLEY of Billesdon Coplow, Leics. He m 1970 Kirsteen (Kirsty) Marion Forbes b 1935 d of Capt Harold Keith SALVESEN 1897-1970 scion of that Scots gentry family of Teaninich and Marion Eleanora CAMERON 1907-81 scion of that Scots gentry family of Lochiel, and had a son and a dau as above.

He appears in the peerages under Herries of Terregles where the family name is also shown as CONSTABLE MAXWELL STUART. I've used the version published in the death notice.
