Widow of Stephen, mother of Richard and Charles, grandmother of Meg, Ned and Scarlett, great grandmother of Nell and Polly and much loved by all her family and carer companions. Funeral at Great Bradley Church at 11.00am on Friday, 26th January. No flowers. Donations, if desired, to SSAFA (in memory of Margaret Ryder), 4 St Dunstan's Hill, London.
She was d of _ MacKENZIE and Janet McGOWAN (later Mrs William Hannay of Invergarry). She m 1947 (ref 821/85 Dumfries) Maj (Richard) Stephen RYDER JP DL of Green Bradley Hall, Newmarket, Suffolk, and had two sons, of whom:
Richard Andrew RYDER OBE PC (b 1949) cr LP Baron RYDER OF WENSUM 1997. He m 1981 Caroline M, CVO MBE (b 1946 reg Q3 London) d of Sir David STEPHENS KCB CVO (1910-90) and his 1st w Mary Clemency GORE-BROWN (1916-66), scion of the gentry family of that name of Glaston House, and had a son (Jack, b&d 1989) and a dau (Hon Meg Clemency RYDER b 1983).
