From the Telegraph of 1 May 2025: BOORMAN - Lt Gen Sir Derek, KCB, died aged 94 on 25th April. Much loved husband of Nicola, and father of Victoria and Georgina. Funeral at Holy Cross Church, Goodnestone… at 11 a.m. on Monday 12th May.

He m 1st 1956 Jennifer Jane SKINNER d 1991 and had a son (dvp) and two daus (their yr dau Georgina Sophie was the 1st w of Andrew Davenport b 1959 yst s of Sir Geoffrey Frederick ERRINGTON 2nd Bt OBE 1926-2015 and Diana Kathleen Forbes d of Edward Barry DAVENPORT 1890-1950 of Edgbaston, Warks, no issue). He m 2nd 1992 Mrs Nicola Cox.

He was s of Norman Reginald BOORMAN MBE 1905-68 by his 26 Oct 1929 m (St Matthew’s, Willesden) to Annie Lilian PATMAN 1907-2001. He m 1st 1956 Jennifer Jane SKINNER d 1991 and had a son (dvp) and two daus. He m 1992 Nicola COX. His yr dau from his 1st m, Georgina Sophie b 1962 (Singapore) m 1983 (div 1989) Andrew Davenport b 1959 s of Sir Geoffrey Frederick ERRINGTON 2nd Bt 1926-2015 and Diana Kathleen Forbes d of Edward Barry DAVENPORT 1890-1950 of Edgbaston, and had a son.

Bright-eyed director for the army whose rare political sensitivity led to a much-needed increase in service pay, dies aged 94

Derek Boorman was born in Staffordshire in 1930, the son of the superintendent of an engineering company, and educated at Wolstanton Grammar School and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, whence he was commissioned in the North Staffordshire Regiment in 1950…

After retiring from the army in 1988, Boorman was appointed lieutenant of the Tower of London. He had served as (honorary) colonel of the 6th Gurkha Rifles from 1983 to 1988 and continued to serve as colonel of the Staffordshire Regiment until 1990, as well as holding several business and other public appointments. His wife Jennifer (née Skinner), whom he married in 1956, died in 1991. The following year he married Nicola Cox, who survives him along with two daughters from his first marriage, a son of that marriage having predeceased him…
