JCB billionaire Sir George Bamford's youngest son George Bamford
married Leonora Pearl last year at the Pearl second home, Ballyneale
House in Co. Limerick, Ireland.

Leonora Pearl is the daughter of City trader David Pearl. Her brother
Harry, fund manager and man-about-town, recently had his first child,
a son Jonathan Tiger, with his wife Caroline Salisbury, a fashion
model.

The Pearls are putting their Irish Georgian mansion up for sale. It
is set in 200 acres, and had a lot of fancy stuff. They will retain
some land on the estate to build another property (a more modern one)
there.

I'm not sure about the entire Bamford family, and whether Sir George
is the younger brother of Sir Anthony or the older brother.

Is the name of the father wrong - according to another story, Joe
Bamford had two sons - Anthony (now Sir Anthony) and Mark.

More details on the Bamford fortune and a bitter legal dispute

Joe, 84 (who died 2001) left 200 million pounds, more than half his
estate, not to his wife Marjorie (d. 25 Dec 2003), but to his mistress
Jayne Ellis, a former secretary in his typing pool, with whom he lived
for almost three decades. When Bamford went into tax exile in
Switzerland in 1975, he asked Jayne - by then promoted to be his
personal assistant and nearly 30 years his junior - to join him.
The couple lived together in a house beside Lake Geneva but never
married.

Devout Roman Catholic Marjorie (they married in 1941 and had two sons,
Anthony and Mark) would not contemplate a divorce. (Sir Anthony is
chairman of JCB.) But in the old man's will, his sons and their mother
were completely cut out. Joe left his home in Switzerland, a villa in
Majorca, known as Fortress Bamford, and the income from half of the
JCB empire to Jayne, 57, for the rest of her life.

I don't know what has happened since then.
