He was eld. s of Capt Alwyn Douglas LENOX-CONYNGHAM RN 1907-90 (gt gs of 3rd Earl of MILLTOWN 1799-1866 & 3xgt gs of FM 3rd Viscount MOLESWORTH 1670-1758 etc) whom he succ. as head of that Irish gentry family, and Margaret Cecil 1908-98 d of Alfred Charles CLEAR of Shanghai, China. He m 1971 Helga Gerrit 1934-99 d of Lt-Gen Hans VON LIEBACH of Berlin and had a son and a dau:

1. Patrick (Paddy) William LENOX-CONYNGHAM b 1972 (a Surbiton based osteopath) succeeds his father as head of the family
