From the Telegraph of 2 Nov 2021: FORTESCUE Caroline, died peacefully at home on 25th October, aged 90, after a long illness stoically borne. Loving wife of Lt Cdr William Loftie RN (d. 1976) and of the Hon Martin Fortescue (d. 2005), much loved mother of Charles, Rupert and Madeleine, and beloved grandmother of Robbie, Alastair, William, Laura, Eleanor and Alexander. Private family funeral. She m 2nd 1994 as his 2nd w Hon Martin Denzil FORTESCUE 1924-2005 s of 6th Earl FORTESCUE 1893-1977 and his former wife Marjorie Ellinor OBE 1893-1964 d of Col Charles William TROTTER 1865-1931 and Hon Ellinor HAMILTON 1865-1957 d of 1st Baron HAMILTON OF DALZELL 1829-1900 and gd of 8th Earl of LEVEN & (7th) MELVILLE 1785-1860.
