As an American, I can only say how extremely impressed all of us were by the events at Windsor Castle today.

I think everyone agrees no one does "pomp and circumstance" like the British, and that was proven again today.

The ceremonial parts were amazing, but more important, was the human side.

Considering the King and the Princess of Wales have both battled cancer over the last several months, it was heartwarming to see them both there.

Also, Queen Camilla. unfortunately, had been ill enough to miss the Duckess of Kent's funeral yesterday, so it was nice to see her better and able to attend.

Tonight, the State Dinner will be held, and no doubt, that will be splendid.

It's nice to see the "special relationship" between our countries, no matter who the President is, or who  the Monarch may be, endures.

Thank you, to all of you in the UK, for your hospitality!

Brooke

Sir Keir must think so as it's his government asking the King to invite him. I have read there will be an outgoing visit by the King and Queen to USA for the 250th  Declaration of Independence.

There is nothing political about my post.  It was not made to begin a political discussion.  I'm sure  there are other groups for that purpose.

It was made strictly as an observation, and in gratitude to the hospitality shown to  the President (and that would be any President) who represents, like it or not, the American people.

As I understand the purpose of this group, which I joined 16 years ago, it was strictly to discuss the past, present, and future of the Monarchy, Peerage and Baronetage.

I hope that is still the purpose of this group.

Actually, I'm a member of this group for 19 years.
