The engagement was announced between Thomas D Astor, son of Mr David Astor and the late Mrs Marianne Astor, of Ashbury, Wiltshire, and Lucy I C Ponsonby, daughter of Mr and Mrs Luke Ponsonby, of Ledwell, Oxfordshire.
