Lady Stormonth Darling (d 2013)

_.Lady Stormonth Darling, who died 27 January, 2013, at Ayr, was the widow of Sir James Carlisle (Jamie) Stormonth Darling, Knt, scion of that landed family, and sometime director of the National Trust for Scotland.

She was the former Mary Finella Gammall, daughter of Lt-Gen Sir James Gammall, and married Jamie Stormonth Darling (b 18 Jul 1918), son of Robert Stormonth Darling (1880-1956), by his wife Beryl Madeleine Sayer. Her husband died 17 Apr, 2000. She leaves issue.

A Memorial Service takes place at Direton Kirk, East Lothian, 5 Feb 2013.

She was b 1924 and m Sir James in 1948. She's d of Lt-Gen Sir James Andrew Harcourt GAMMELL of Arlick KCB DSO MC (1892-1975), sometime head of that Scots gentry family now of Forter, and his 1st w Gertrude (1890-1960) d of Gilbert William DON of Ravensby, Canoustie, Angus.
