I take it that Elizabeth McConnel was not related to the late Duchess
of Wellington....

The two duchesses were 1st cousins once removed. The Duchess of
Wellington's grandfather
William Houldsworth McConnel was a brother of the Duchess of
Roxburghe's
father Frederick Bradshaw McConnel.

Cool. I thought that it would be too much of a coincidence that they
were related. You proved me wrong!

Thanks Michael for correcting my sloppy research on the marriages! You
can see my 'less haste more speed' policy meant I had to correct the
surname spelling almost immediately. I must take more water with it,
as they say. V interesting there's such a close McConnel connection
between the duchesses. What a small world the kinship of our peerage
families is.

Also Katherine Christina Mary is now divorced from Robert Innes-Ker; in peerage references online she is usually
described as "Dr Katherine Pelly".  Lord Robert or Robin is now married to Jane Rigby since 2012.

The couple were already separated or divorced in 2010, as reported in 2007 in the Daily Mail:

Dr. Katherine Pelly, with a Ph.D in molecular biology or biophysics, was 46 in April 2007, making her born circa 1961.  Her daughter Rosanna (Anna) Pelly
was born circa 1979 (if she was 27 years old in 2007).  That makes Katherine a very young mother, or someone who fudged her birth year.

She used the name Lady Robin Innes-Ker in the engagement announcement, which was fine because her second ex-husband Lord Robin became engaged 12 January 2012
to Mrs Jane Rigg, and married her later that year.

BTW, Lord Robin was NOT the son of Lady Mary Hungerford-Crewe-Milnes, as others have pointed out.  Her marriage to the 9th Duke was childless.  Both the 10th Duke and his brother Lord Robin were born to the 9th Duke's second wife (Margaret) Elisabeth Church nee McConnel.  There is a thread about the McConnel ancestry of the late Dowager Duchess and her cousin the Duchess of Wellington (nee Diana Ruth McConnel)
