Hein Bruins' website, specifically the page on descendants of Wilhelm II, show at least one remarriage and several births.

The Marquess of Douro got divorced from his first wife Jemma Kidd in 2021. His separation was reported wifely, but not the divorce. He remarried in 2023 one Hayley Elizabet Whitehead (b 1986), also reported as Hayley Whitehead or Elizabeth Whitehead, whom he has been seeing publicly since 2021. They have been working together in the financial sector since before the pandemic. No details on the wedding. The new Marchioness is said to be American or Canadian (one report).
My sources: Google search, Daily Mail gosdip/society columbs

His yr brother Lord Frederick Weellesley has had a child Willow Minna (2021) with his wife Katherine Lambert. Their engagement was repirted in 2021.

The names of Lady Charlotte's two children b 2017 and 2019 with her billionaire husband Alejandro Santo Domingo have been revealed.

Lady Mary Wellesley has had two children by an unlnown partner(s). Both apparently born last year. At least one is a daughter Elfrieda.

I do not know the source of Hein's information and am typing from memory. Just re-checked the page for URL and to confirm years.

Hi Shinjinee.

Thanks for the update.

Debrett's Online is a mixed bag, with some of the information included and some not.

The Earl of Mornington (the courtesy title he is shown with in DB Online) is shown as having separated from his first wife in 2020.  No mention of any divorce, and certainly no mention of a second wife.

Lord Frederick's marriage and daughter are included, as are the names of Lady Charlotte's 2 children.

Lady Mary is shown with a child, born in 2022, unnamed.  No partner is mentioned.

I note that you refer to Arthur Wellesley as Marquess of Douro, but Wikipedia, and other places, say that he did not 'fleet up' from the courtesy title of Earl of Mornington when his father became Duke, preferring to remain Earl of Mornington. Do you have a source for this, or is just referring to the traditional title of the Duke's heir.
I also note that there was a huge foo-fa-rah when Lord Frederick got engaged, but nothing for his marriage, just the date of 2 July 2022. Anyone have more information?

Robert,

According to DPB Online, Lord Frederick married Katherine Lambert in 2021, and they have a daughter, Willow Minna I b. 2021.

The Earl of Mornington isn't the only Duke's son who doesn't use the Marquessate as his courtesy title.  The Duke of Devonshire's heir goes by the Earl of Burlington courtesy title, not the traditional courtesy title of Marquess of Hartington.

Just a reminder that a courtesy title is a matter where the title holder can decide which of the subsidiary titles can be used,if used at all.
I suspect that the tiresome business of changing titles ie bank, credit cards, internet accounts for why those who haven’t done so haven’t.
Mornington May change his style if he remarries.

malcolm,

I believe in the case of the Earl of Burlington, he probably didn't want to change his title because as a photographer, he is known as "Bill Burlington".

It appears that the son of the 9th Duke is still styling himself Earl of Mornington- see link to Oakley Capital where he works:

malcolm,

It's similar to the son and ha of the Duke of Devonshire, who goes by the "Earl of Burlington", rather than the "Marquess of Hartington."

They are so well established in those titles, keeping them makes perfect sense.

Brooke ,
Yes-its up to the peer concerned and their son to determine what courtesy title(if any) is used(the Earl of Burford for example does not use his).
The other thing to bear in mind is that the courtesy title does not determine precedence-dukes sons are ranked as such and as between them precedence is determined by the date of creation of the dukedom.

Thanks for this Wellesley update. Arlo is styled Hon rather than Lord. He takes his style from his father's style as an earl by courtesy. Should his father assume the style Marquess of Douro, Arlo would then use the style Lord before his name.

Thanks, Patricia.

DPB Online has not updated this page, and there's quite a bit of missing information that you have (thankfully!) provided.

No second marriage shown for the Earl of Mornington, no birth of the Hon. Arlo, and from your other post, no birth of Lord Frederick's son, Finneas.

A huge congratulations to our fellow group member, Patricia Light.

About 5 weeks ago, in this very thread, Patricia posted about the birth of  Arlo Wulf, to the Earl  and Countess of Mornington (his second wife, Hayley) in 2023.

Now, Tatler online, quoting The Mail, has not only confirmed the birth, but has written an entire article.

Well done, Patricia!
