From the Times of 27 November 2019: YOUNGER Diana (nee Douglas-Hamilton) died peacefully on 21st November 2019, at Trinity House Care Home, Edinburgh, formerly Friarshaughmuir. Dear mother of Douglas, Hugh, Malcolm, Xa and Bob and loving grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren. Cremation service at Borders Crematorium on Friday 6th December, at 2pm, to which all friends are invited. Family flowers only pleased.

She was d of Wing-Cdr Lord Malcolm Avondale DOUGLAS-HAMILTON OBE DFC MP RAF (1909-64, s of 13th Duke of HAMILTON TD (1862-1940)) and his 1st w Clodagh Pamela (1908-2003) d of Lt-Col Hon Malcolm BOWES-LYON CBE (1874-1957, s of 13th Earl of STRATHMORE & KINGHOREN (1824-1904)) and (as her 2nd h) Winifred GURDON-REBOW (1876-1957), scion of the gentry family of that name of Wyvenhoe. She m 1955 (div 1973) Gavin William (1926-2003) s of Lt-Col Henry Johnston YOUNGER TA (1899-ka1940), scion of (not descended from) the Bts of that name of Auchen Castle cr 1911, by his 1925 m to Anna d of Henry Brown MARSHALL JP DL (1852-1948) scion of the Scots gentry family of that name of Rachan & Glenhove, and had 4 sons and a dau as above.

Mrs Younger was The QUEEN's 2nd cousin.
