From the Telegraph of 30 November 2019: NICHOLSON John Hartshorne Courtney, dearly loved husband for 50 years of Amanda (née MacAndrew), father of Sally, Jo and Verity and grandfather of Poppy and Arthur, peacefully on 26th November aged 78, following a fall sustained during a progressive illness. A private funeral will be followed at a later date by a celebration of his life. Donations in his memory may be sent to  ‘Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis’ via Heritage and Sons, 63 High Street, Winslow, Bucks ...

He was s of Claude John [Hartshorne] NICHOLSON (1894-1957) by his 1939 m (reg Q4 London) to Dorothy V KEMPE ROBERTS. He m 1969 Amanda Rose (b 1947) d of Lt-Col James (Jo) Orr MacANDREW TD MP (1899-1979, bro of 1st Baron MacANDREW TD PC (1888-1979)) and Eileen May (1909-87) d of Robin Arthur BUTTERFIELD (1877-1922, butcher) by his 1902 m (reg Q3 Devon) to Annie Ada DAVIES (1878-1966), and had a son and two daus as above.
