I just realized Anne played Lady Anstruther in Downton Abbey and also played the Countess of Rosse (mother of Anthony Armstrong-Jones) in The Crown.

Is her name not Anna, as opposed to Anne? At least that is the stage name under which she acts.

Obit in the Times of 9 Dec 2023:

Poppy Chancellor obituary

Exuberant artist whose illustrations were used by brands such as Paperchase and Cath Kidston

…Born in 1987, at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, west London, Poppy Chancellor grew up in a basement flat in Shepherds Bush with her mother, the Four Weddings and a Funeral actress Anna Chancellor, and father, the hard-drinking Scottish poet Jock Scot.

It was a bohemian and often chaotic household. The family’s pet duck, Daphne, lived indoors and the carpet was peppered with her excrement. Scot, though a loving father, was not particularly interested in the domestic side of parenthood, but he did enjoy taking his daughter on a tour of west London pubs and betting shops…

…She became a figurehead at the Prince’s Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School), where she studied for a postgraduate qualification, spoke at fundraising dinners, including one at Windsor Castle, and was invited to lead a crafting weekend at Dumfries House, shortly after it had been acquired by the King, then Prince of Wales, in 2007. A papercut illustration that she made of the castle and gave to the King still hangs there today…

…After her father died [in 2016], aged 63, from cancer, Chancellor founded Griefcase, a support group where young people could openly discuss bereavement, especially the loss of a parent. She also launched a weekly podcast, Dead Parent Club, featuring experts offering advice to young grievers.

Chancellor’s health problems had started at university, when she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus, which causes severe reactions to sunlight. After the diagnosis she rarely felt direct sunlight on her skin — thereafter she was never to be seen without a parasol in the summer, and leaving the house involved elaborate layering. Then, in April this year, at the age of 35, Chancellor received a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukaemia.

She had married Jonny Mckenzie-Wynne, who works in music management, in 2017. He wanted an intimate ceremony, but they reached a compromise of sorts and had three, each one larger and louder than the last. He survives her, together with her mother and half-sister, Tara Scott, who was six months older than her — the result of a brief affair between her father and the clothes designer Joanna Scott…

Poppy Chancellor, artist and podcast creator, was born on June 4, 1987. She died of acute myeloid leukaemia on September 29, 2023, aged 36
