She was d of Dr Frank S ADAMS (c1883-1962) of the Isle of Wight by his 1919 m (reg Q3 Lancashire) to Amy Kathleen NUTTALL (1894-1970). She m 1952 Sir Piers Henry George BENGOUGH KCVO OBE (1929-2005), scion of the gentry family of that name of The Ridge and sometime The QUEEN's representative at Ascot, and had two sons.
