Sir Benjamin Slade, 7th Bt.'s requirements for a wife:

from https://www.somersetcountygazette.co.uk/news/25645787.somerset-millionaire-lists-needs-potential-bride/

confirmed by many other sources:

He said that he would have to marry a lady at least 20 years younger than him for tax reasons. "Death tax is 40 per cent and the only way I can pass the estate and art collection etc on is to leave it to the wife tax free who then disposes it to my distant relatives.

"Obviously she has to live for seven years. She would also have to be insured, that's why we need a lady at least 20 years younger than me as I cannot insure an older wife so the younger the better.

"Obviously the widow would receive a financial percentage for passing it on. This the only way left to get around inheritance tax."

The new wife of Sir Benjamin Slade must be able to run two castles and an estate, and legal and accountancy training "would be useful", he said. The candidate would be paid £50,000 plus a bonus per year, and this includes a car, house, expenses, food and holidays.

Sir Slade added: "I can't insure a woman of 70. I've got lots lots of lovely girls that would love to marry at 70 but they are getting older, last a few years and then you die and then they might die and that is a risk. I meet people socially and I have a very social life and I am introduced to people of my own."

His full wife requirement read: "Sir Ben is on the search for a Lady of the House. You must have a shotgun licence, a driving licence (also a helicopter licence would be beneficial), armorial bearings, be able to run two castles, an estate and a grouse moor.

"Legal and accountancy training would be useful. Must be able to breed two sons (don’t mind if she has bred before and is proven).

"A little private capital and income would be helpful. A large fortune would be more helpful! The candidate would be paid £50,000 plus a bonus per year and this includes a car, house, expenses, food and holidays.

"Guardian readers, Scorpios, drug users, alcoholics, Scots, under 5’6”, people from countries beginning with ‘I’ who have green in their flag and people from countries where they don’t wear overcoats in the winter, need not apply."

He has been advertising for a decade now. Surprisingly his high demands has found he cannot find that wife. He isn't that rich either and as you read, the rewards are minor in today's standards. Maybe a young lady who can see the benefits of marriage and a quick succession of children and the after marks, as he is not young.

I’m not sure he was ever rich., it was always said he made a fortune in shipping but it was always in the same breath as, and you can rent one of his houses for £ per week.   He’s also close friends with lady Colin and has a daughter he doesn’t support.   I don’t think his behaviour was correct when he was younger, he’s doing that Lord Lucan thing of showing his out of touch because he’s so posh.

Obviously I’m not what he’s looking for but five minutes in his company would be more than enough.  I cannot fathom the desperation that would prompt actual consideration of this so-called proposal.

Maybe if you did a transition and a few tucks here and there and get your birth certificate altered, (ie: all legal in the UK and probably in the EU).. You could perhaps attract him to a marriage proposal.. All legal too.. A future Lady Slade. Though I suspect he also likes a bit of money beyond you too.

Not sure how it would go, if you were to re-transit back if the title of Lady FITS.
