From the Telegraph of 19 May 2022: SALVESEN Alison Margaret, died at home on Monday 16th May 2022, aged 83. Much loved wife of the late John, loving mummy of Michael, Jeremy (deceased), Nigel, Penny and Rachel. Adoring and adored Granny to 17 grandchildren and to 4 great-grandchildren. Service of thanksgiving to be held at Kelso North Parish Church, for details please contact Kyle Bros Funeral Directors. Family flowers only. Donations are welcomed to Friends of Kelso Hospital.
She was d of Capt Douglas McIver RUSSELL RN 1908-1977 of Gillingshill, Pittenween, Fife by his 1937 m ref 685/4 208 St Giles to Evelyn Hope 1912-1985 d of George Francis DALZIEL 1874-1947 by his 1903 m reg Surrey to Eleanor Dennistoun ARKCOLL 1883-1957. She m 1960 John Iver McClure 1934-95 s of Lt-Col Iver Ronald Stuart SALVESEN TD 1901-57 scion of that Scots gentry family of Teaninich (see BLG Scotland p 1186) and Marion Hamilton 1911-97 d of Alexander Logan McCLURE KC 1860-1932 of Heriot Row, Edin. and Jessie Evelyn Ramsey 1878-1966 d of Hamilton Andrew HOTSON c1844-1912 of Edin. by his 1876 m ref 685/2 210 St Andrew to Maggie E RITCHIE, and had three sons as above.
