Sir Richard Antony Purbeck Temple, 4th Baronet, MC (1913-2007)

Sir Richard Antony Purbeck Temple, 4th Baronet, MC, who died in
hospital at Gloucester, 5 December, 2007, was aged 94. He was born 19
Jan 1913, son of Sir Richard Durand Temple, 3rd Baronet, DSO, whom he
succeeded in 1962. He was educated at Stowe and Trinity Hall,
Cambridge; Major, King's Royal Rifle Corps, served in the European War
1939-45 (wounded, awarded MC), married 1stly 1936 (div 1946) Lucy
Geils de Lotbinière, dau of Alain Joly de Lotbinière, of Montreal
(descended from the last Marquis de Lotbinière??); married 2ndly,
1950, Jean, daughter of James T. Finnie and widow of Oliver P. Croom-
Johnson. He leaves issue from both unions. The baronetcy (created in
1876) now devlves upon his elder son by the 1st marriage, Richard
Temple, b 17 Aug 1937, who married 1964, Emma Rose Laycock, dau of Sir
Robert Laycock, KCMG, by his wife Angela Clare Louise dau of Rt Hon Wm
Dudley Ward, of the Earls of Dudley, by his wife, the former Winifred
Birkin (later the Marquesa de Casa Maury sometime mistress of Edward
VIII) .

Obviously the new baronet has only three daughters, so his heir
presumptive might be his younger brother Anthony St George Temple.

Anthony has one son, born 1986. There are also 2 half-brothers of the
late baronet with male descendants. Succession here appears set for
the forseeable future.

Phoen, according to Burke's, Anthony's date of birth is Feb. 23, 1941.

His son's name is Nicholas Christopher Lee.
