From the Telegraph & Times of 24 June 2022: BANKS (William) Lawrence CBE DL VMH. On Tuesday 14th June, passed away peacefully at home aged 84. Much loved husband, father and grandfather. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday 7th July at St Mary's Church, Kington, Herefordshire at 2 p.m. A memorial reception will be held in London in the Autumn. He was s of Richard Alford BANKS CBE 1902-97 and his 1st w Lillian Jean WALKER 1912-74. He m 1963 Elizabeth Christina b 1941 d of Capt Leslie Swain SAUNDERS DSO RN 1896-1988 sometime head of that Scots gentry family f/o Dolphington House and Elizabeth 1904-63 d of Vice-Adm Sir Michael CULME-SEYMOUR 4th Bt 1867-1925 & gd of 3rd Baron NUGENT 1841-1909, and had two sons.
