He m Lindsey Bridget BRIMS b 1948 whose maternal grandmother was Freda Ethel Louisa WILSON (1889 - 1971) daughter of Sir Mathew Amcotts Wilson, 3rd Baronet of Eshton Hall (UK 1874)

Their daughter Caroline Elizabeth Monckton Copeman b 1980 m Julian Alexander Dermot BARROW b 1981 a scion of the Barrow Baronets of Ulverstone (UK 1835) issue twins Poppy and Wilfrid b 2012
