From the Telegraph of 16 May 2026: PYM Martin Hugh, MBE, died peacefully on 8th May 2026 aged 99. Reunited with his beloved wife, Phillada. Adored father of Lucy, Emma, Serena and William, and extra special Papa to 17 grandchildren and great grandchildren. His gentle twinkle and warmth touched all generations. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday 10th June 2026 at St Peter & St Paul's Church, Charing. Donations, if desired, to the Kent Community Foundation.
He was s of Maj Alexander Ruthven PYM 1891-1971 scion of that gentry family of Hazells Hall and Violet Helen Marie 1896-1983 d of Sir George WARRENDER 7 Bt 1860-1917 (f of 1 Baron BRUNTISFIELD 1899-1993) and Lady Ethel Maud ASHLEY-COOPER 1870-1945 d of 8 Earl of SHAFTESBURY 1831-86 by his w a dau of 3 Marquess of DONEGALL 1797-1883 etc etc. He m 1960 Phillada Hilary 1939-2025 dau of Robin Michael Charles NUNNELEY 1911-2005 sometime head of that gentry family f/o Park House (gs of 3rd Baron SANDHURST 1857-1933) and Patricia May 1911-99 d of Lt-Col Robert Walker ROYLANCE CBE 1882-1962 and Olive Kathleen DRINAN 1884-1978, and had a son and three daus
