HOARE, Christopher Edward Walter Bertram (1931 - 2023)

From a legal notice concerning his estate in the Hounslow edition of the Chronicle and Informer local newspaper of 20 December 2023 (see online version at https://publicnoticeportal.uk/notice/probate-and-trustee/65804404498d683fc8b0bb58), Christopher Edward Walter Bertram HOARE, of that landed gentry family, of Stourton, died on 29 September 2023.

 

Note that the notice omits Mr Hoare's third name, Walter, which is given for him in Burke's Landed Gentry (it is also omitted from company records). He was born on 8 December 1931, as the only son of Bertram Edward Walter HOARE (19 VI 1901 - 9 VII 1994) and his wife (married 15 X 1925, divorced 1954), Elsie Margaret CRANE (17 XII 1903 - 11 VII 1982), the only daughter of Capt Charles Edward CRANE (1874 - 1953) of Southern Rhodesia. He was married on 25 September 1954 to Sylvia Margaret BREMRIDGE ("Miss 1939 of the Air", born c.1931/2), daughter of Flt Lt Godfrey BREMRIDGE, AFC (1 III 1895 - 12 IX 1941), by whom he had three sons. His brother-in-law was Sir John Henry BREMRIDGE, KBE, JP (12 VII 1925 - 6 V 1994), Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, 1981-86.

He was a 2 x greats-grandson of Henry HOARE (27 XII 1807 - 16 IV 1866), High Sheriff of Kent in 1842, and his wife (married 3 V 1836), Lady Mary MARSHAM (died 23 II 1871), third daughter of the 2nd Earl of Romney.
