Lord Lloyd was the oldest law lord (by which I mean a life peer appointed under the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876) at the time of his death.  The oldest law lord is now Lord Woolf (b 1933) who is also the most senior by appointment

He was cr Knight Bachelor in 1978 on his appointment to the High Court and sworn of the Privy Council in 1984 on his appointment to the Court of Appeal.  He was DL for East Sussex 1983
