From the Times of 20 June 2017: MIERS Douglas Alexander Nigel Capel on 15th June 2017, aged 84, beloved husband of Richenda and father of Mary, Lucian, Victoria and Henrietta, and loving grandfather. Funeral at St Mary's R C Church, Beauly, Inverness-shire on Friday 30th June, at 12.30pm. Enquiries to John Fraser & Son, Inverness.

He was s of Col Ronald Douglas Martin Capel MIERS (1902-74) and Honor Bell BUCKNILL (c1905-1994). He m 1959 Richenda (b 1939) d of Rear-Admiral Peter Douglas Herbert Raymond PELLY (1904-80), scion of the Bts of that name, and Gwenllian Violet EDWARDES (1912-87), gd of 4th Baron KENSINGTON and scion of numerous other peerage families, and had a son and three daus.
