He m 1970 Sarah b 1947 d of Sir Edmund Castell BACON 13/14^th Bt KG KBE TD 1903-82 and Priscilla Dora 1913-2000 d of Col Sir Charles Edward PONSONBY 1^st Bt 1879-1976 (gs of 2nd Baron DE MAULEY 1815-96) and Hon Winifred Marian GIBBS 1887-1984 d of 1^st Baron HUNSDON 1854-1935 and Anna Maria DURANT 1862-1938 (2xgt gd of Sir James DASHWOOD 2^nd Bt c1713-1779), and had a dau who is m with a son and a dau.
