From the TImes of 2 Dec 2022: BUTLER-SLOSS Joseph William Alexander
died peacefully on 22nd November 2022, aged 96. Younger son of Francis
Sloss of Bangor, Co Down. Private funeral. Memorial service on 17th
January 2023 in the Temple Church at 6pm.
Head of the Irish gentry family of that name (formerly Butler). He was s of Francis Alexander SLOSS 1865-1952 and Alice Mary Frances Violet 1893-1981 d of William Anderson PATCHELL c1857-1946 and Alice Louisa 1860-1917 d of John Robert NEVILLE c1831-1873 scion of that Irish gentry family and Mary BUTLER 1824-1900. He m 1958 the LP Baroness BUTLER-SLOSS b 1933 d of Sir Cecil Robert HAVERS QC 1889-1977 (f of the LP Baron HAVERS 1923-92) and Enid Flo 1889-1956 d of William Oldfield SNELLING 1858-1919, and had two sons and a dau.
