Sir Christopher Eric Forbes Adam, 3rd Baronet (cr 1917), died after a
short illness, 17 January 2009. He was aged 88.
Born 12 Feb 1920, son of Eric Graham Forbes Adam, CMG (who d 1925, the
2nd son of the 1st Bt), by his wife the former Angela Perrin Macan;
succeeded to the baronetcy on the demise of his uncle, 1982. Career:--
> sometime diplomatic correspondent of the Yorkshire Post; married
1957, Patricia Ann Wreford Brown, yr dau of John Neville Wreford
Brown; 1 adopted daughter; succeeded by his cousin, the Rev (Stephen)
Timothy Forbes Adam, b 19 Nov 1923, who m 1954, Penelope Munday, by
whom he has 4 daughters, viz (i) (Anna) Victoria, b 1955; Catherine
Mary, b 1956; Lucy, b 1960; and Sonia Clare, b 1966, actress, who
married 1994, James Nesbitt, actor (b 15 Jan 1965). The heir pres. (I
think) is now the 4th Barts yr brother, Nigel Forbes Adam b 1930, who
married 1st 1954, the actress Teresa Moore (d 6 Mar 2005); married
2ndly, 1987 Mrs (Mildred) Malise Hare Ropner (former wife of a scion
of the Ropner Bts) and dau of Col George Armitage. A Memorial
Service for Sir Christopher will be held at All Souls, St Margarets.

The heir presumptive is the new Bt's nephew, RUPERT COLIN (b 11 Aug
1957) son of the late Desmond Francis Forbes Adam (1926-1958, ie the
brother born between the present Bt and his younger brother) and the
wife of his 1949 marriage, the Hon Vivien Elisabeth Mosley (d 2002),
sister of 3rd Baron Ravensdale & dau of Sir Oswald Ernald Mosley, 6th
Bt. Rupert Forbes Adam marr 1981, Mrs Anne (Anya) B. Hillman, dau of
Richard Cadbury Butler. She died in 2004 without issue. The HP is
currently a widower. Then comes Nigel Forbes Adam and then his three
sons and their issue.
