From the Times of 21 May 2024: MORE O’FERRALL Rory Lewis David Jerome, Knight of Honour & Devotion, Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and Malta, died in Marbella on 14th May 2024, aged 76. “Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum”. Requiescat in Pace.

He was s of Maj George Anthony MORE O’FERRALL 1907-82 scion of that Irish gentry family and Elizabeth Crosby 1911-2012 d of Crosby Marston LOCKWOOD MC 1885-1952 of Emperor’s Gate, London SW7 by his 1909 m reg Q2 St George Hanover Sq to Annie Kathleen REILLY 1881-.

Mrs Annie Kathleen LOCKWOOD, née REILLY (1881 - 6 VIII 1962) was a sister of the architect Prof Sir Charles Herbert REILLY (4 III 1874 - 2 II 1948) and of Sir (Henry) D'Arcy Cornelius REILLY (1876 - 12 VI 1948), Chief Justice of Mysore.

Sir Charles Reilly was the father of the Life Peer, Paul REILLY, Baron REILLY (29 V 1912 - 11 X 1990), who was the Director of the Design Council (formerly the Council of Industrial Design) from 1960 to 1977.

Sir D'Arcy Reilly was the father of Sir (D'Arcy) Patrick REILLY, GCMG, OBE (17 III 1909 - 6 X 1999), British Ambassador to the USSR, 1957-60, and to France, 1965-68. Sir Patrick Reilly was married, firstly, in 1938, to Rachel Mary SYKES (16 XI 1911 - 1984), daughter of Brig-Gen Sir Percy Molesworth SYKES, KCIE, CB, CMG, FRGS (28 II 1867 - 11 VI 1945) and his wife (married 1 X 1902), Evelyn SETON (4 VIII 1881 - 30 XII 1973), a great-granddaughter of Sir Alexander SETON, 5th Bt, of Abercorn (4 V 1772 - 4 II 1810).
