The death of the life peer Lord HASKINS was announced on 30 March 2026. He was 88.

He was born Christopher Robin HASKINS on 30 May 1937 in Dublin. He married 1959 (reg Q4 Scarborough) Gilda S. b 1936 (reg Q3 Sculcoates) dau of Alec Stewart HORSLEY 1902-93 (death reg June 1993 Beverley) by his c 1932 m (reg Q1 Bingham) to Ida Seward HOWITT 1908- (birth reg Q4 Bingham). Lord and Lady HASKINS had two sons.

He was a businessman, latterly Chairman of Northern Foods from 1980-2002. He was raised to the peerage as Baron Haskins, of Skidby in the County of the East Riding of Yorkshire, on 25 July 1998.

A life peer he was appointed in 1998, sat as a Labour peer until 2005, then briefly was Non-affiliated, and then on the Crossbenches from 2005 to 2020 when he retired.

I have been looking around for confirmation his actual date of death - no luck yet.  Like Tim's notice above, all I can find is that his death was announced on 30 March.

Nothing on the HoL on website.  Maybe we will get a DoD once it appears there.
