Dinah Karen Crawshay Greenwood was born on May 27 1946, the daughter of the Labour politician Tony Greenwood and Gillian (née Crawshay-Williams), a designer.
In 1970 she married the philosopher and music critic David Murray, who died in 2016. She is survived by their three sons and a foster son.
