From the Telegraph & Times of 20 May 2022: BLEWITT Major Sir Shane, died suddenly aged 87 on 15 May. Adored husband of the late Julia, much loved father to Kate, Dominic, Davina and Piers and a wonderful grandfather to ten grandchildren.

He was s of Col Basil BLEWITT 1904-72 of Cathay Cottage, Willaston, Cheshire by his 1932 m reg Q2 Notts to Claire Kathleen NOWLAN 1905-2002. He m 1969 (Monica) Julia 1939-2020 d of Maj Robert Henry CALVERT 1912-87 scion of that gentry family of Ockley Court and Monica 1916-2007 d of Edward Gurney BUXTON 1865-1929 (gs of Sir Edward Noel BUXTON 2nd Bt 1812-58) and his wife & 2nd cousin (both gt gc of Samuel GURNEY 1786-1856) Laura GURNEY MBE 1875-1957 scion of that gentry family of Walsingham Abbey & Earlham, and had two sons and a dau as above.

The Queen was represented by Sir John Parsons (Extra Equerry to The Queen and formerly Deputy Keeper of the Privy Purse and Deputy Treasurer to The Queen) at the Funeral of Major Sir Shane Blewitt (Extra Equerry to The Queen and formerly Keeper of the Privy Purse and Treasurer to The Queen) which was held in the Church of St Anthony and St George, Duncton, West Sussex, this morning.
