From the Telegraph of 22 November 2018: BECKETT Major General Edwin Horace Alexander, CB, MBE, late The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire, of Exmoor on 15th November 2018. Much loved by his wife Micaela, dearly loved father and father-in-law of children Diana, Simon and Tessa, Alex, Tom and Catherine, as well as grandchildren and friends. At his request there will be no memorial service, but all are welcome to the Thanksgiving and Funeral Service at St John’s Church, Cutcombe, on Saturday 1st December 2018 at 2 p.m. Family flowers only please, but donations, if wished to St John's Church, Cutcombe. He was s of William Alexander BECKETT (1909-86) by his 1936 m (reg Q3 Yorkshire) to Doris WHITHAM (1911-89). He m 1963 Micaela Elizabeth Benedicta (b 1939) d of Col Sir Edward William St Lo MALET 8th Bt (1908-90) and Maria Johana Benedicta VON MAASBURG (1915-79), and had 3 sons and a dau.
