He was the adopted son of Jocelyn Campbell Patrick PROBY (1900-1993), yr brother of Sir Richard George Proby, 1st baronet. He m 1969 Gloria Florence HUGHES. None of their children are in the last print edition of BPB
Jocelyn Proby's mother was a d of the 4th Earl of Donoughmore. A note in DPB states the Proby Baronets are descended in the female line from William Proby first cousin of Sir Thomas Proby 1st and last Baronet (ext 1689) and from the Earls of Carysfort (ext 1909). The Proby Baronets are also in remainder to the Marquessate of Abercorn
The PROBY family, and how the Proby name got to the Abercorns
I have been able to establish that this Proby family is extant in the male line, descended from a brother of the 1st Lord Carysfort, though the line which is definitely extant now has the surname “Hetherington” after a stepfather adoption.
