She was d of Harold KILLEN of Australia. She m 1954 Maj-Gen Sir John SWINTON OF KIMMERGHAME KCVO OBE JP DL (b 1925), scion of the Scots gentry family SWINTON of that Ilk and the English family ALERS HANKEY of Stanton, and had 3 sons and a dau (the actress (Katherine Matilda b 1960) Tilda Swinton)
