Mrs Jane Frances Graham LINNELL, née PESKETT (born 19 II 1955) is the elder daughter of Francis John PESKETT (2 VII 1922 - 30 IV 1988) and his wife (married 1954), Marigold Graham TREHERNE-THOMAS (1927 - c.2007). Francis Peskett was himself the son of Brig Alfred Henry PESKETT, MC, RA (5 VIII 1893 - 1976) and his wife (married 1 VI 1921), Esther Frances GARRATT (21 I 1900 - 1983), the second daughter of Honorary Brig-Gen Sir Francis Sudlow GARRATT, KCMG, CB, DSO (18 VI 1859 - 23 VI 1928), of that landed gentry (LG) family, of Bishop's Court, Exeter, and his first wife (married 8 V 1897), Frances Lucy ACLAND-TROYTE (25 IX 1867 - 11 XI 1921).

Frances Acland-Troyte was a great-great-granddaughter of Sir Thomas Dyke ACLAND, 9th Bt (18 IV 1752 - 17 V 1794). Her maternal grandparents were Sir John WALROND, 1st Bt (1 III 1818 - 23 IV 1889) and his wife (married 20 V 1845), the Hon Frances Caroline HOOD (29 III 1821 - 1 X 1903), daughter of the 2nd Baron Bridport and his wife (married 3 X 1810), Lady Charlotte Mary NELSON, suo jure 3rd Duchess of Bronte in Sicily (20 IX 1787 - 29 I 1873), daughter of the 1st Earl Nelson.

Sir Francis Garratt's maternal grandparents were the Ven George BARNES (11 XII 1782 - 29 VI 1847), Archdeacon of Bombay, 1816-30, and of Barnstaple, 1830-47, and his wife (married 19 VIII 1817), Harriet Maria RIVETT-CARNAC (1800 - 1880), a sister of Sir James RIVETT-CARNAC, 1st Bt (11 XI 1784 - 28 I 1846), Governor of Bombay, 1838-41 and MP (Whig) for Sandwich, 1837-39.

The Ven George Barnes was of that family, of Great Duryard, Exeter, which, per Burke's Family Index, last appeared in Burke's LG in the 1894 edition (although he does not appear in the pedigree there, his father, the Ven Ralph BARNES (c.1731/2 - 20 V 1820), Archdeacon of Totnes, 1775-1820, does).

The Ven George Barnes and his wife were also the great-grandparents of Mary BARNES (29 III 1889 - 17 IV 1977), the wife (married 1910) of St John HUTCHINSON, KC (8 IV 1884 - 24 X 1942), by whom she was the mother of the Life Peer Baron Hutchinson of Lullington and of Barbara Judith HUTCHINSON (22 II 1911 - 3 IX 1989), the first wife (married 1933, as her first husband) of the 3rd Baron Rothschild.
