From the Telegraph of 18 May 2024: HOPE On 7th May 2024, Lady Merle passed away peacefully with her children; Natasha and Alex by her side. After a globetrotting youth, she became a much loved mother and then grandmother. She lived with dementia for many years and is now at peace. She was d of Robert DOUGLAS of Southside, Holbrook, Ipswich. She m 1968 Sir John Carl Alexander HOPE 18^th Bt 1939-2007 of Craighall, and had a son (present 19^th Bt) and a dau, as above.
