Henry Roper-Curzon (b 5 Feb 1986), eldest son and heir of Hon David Roper-Curzon (b. 1965) by his first wife (Lydia) Lucinda Airy is engaged to be married as of 2 January 2020 to Hanna Jaff, a Mexican-American philanthropist.
The wedding, scheduled for 11 July 2020 at the Palace of Westminster and Pylewell Park (the Teynham family seat) was postponed due to the pandemic. Another ceremony was scheduled in Mexico. The bride plans to now wear a coat over her Elie Saab dress, since the ceremonies are rescheduled for November and December this year.
Hanna Jazmin Jaff Bosdet (b. 4 Nov 1986) was born in San Diego but raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico where her mother's family lives. She appears on a Mexican reality show Made in Mexico created by Netflix.
Further research shows her parents as Dawood Jaff, a Kurdish businessman of Kurdish ancestry and Lilia Laura Jaff nee Bosdet, a great-granddaughter of Carlos Henry Bosdet Fixott (1857-1893), an English-born engineer who brought telephones to Mexico. He too has a Wikipedia entry. Her lineage was apparently highlighted on Made in Mexico.
Her parents met in California where her father had come to study for his Master's in Los Angeles and her mother was studying design. They have been married thirty six years, with Dawood Jaff being Muslim and Lilia being Catholic.
Hannah Jaff has a fifty million dollar personal fortune/net worth. She mentions her Harvard degree (2013) but her Wikipedia entry references a private university in California for her first degree (BA in Psychology, with minors in Political Science and Criminal Justice) and doesn't mention Harvard at all. She has additional certificates from a variety of well-known institutions.
Her personal site describes her as an "American born Mexican-Kurd television personality". She organized a Kurdish festival in Mexico in 2013.
The groom's mother Lucinda Airy was daughter of Major-General Sir Christopher Airy (Private Secretary to TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales 1990-91) by his wife Judith Stephenson. The first marriage of Lord Teynham's heir, the eldest of ten children, in 1985 ended in divorce by 2004. They had four children but one child died in infancy.
The groom's paternal grandparents: Lord Teynham, the 10th Baron, married Elizabeth Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, half-sister of the present Earl of Dundee. They had ten children and several grandchildren.
Henry is described as Sarah Ferguson's nephew. The former Duchess of York is a second cousin of Henry's father Hon David Roper-Curzon, their grandmothers being sisters - Marian Montagu-Douglas-Scott (the Dowager Lady Elmhirst in 1986) and Patricia Montagu-Douglas-Scott, Dowager Countess of Dundee at her death in 2012.
His younger brother the pianist Hon Peter Roper-Curzon accompanied Andrea Bocelli at Princess Eugenie's wedding. Peter is married to Victoria and has six children.
